cmostores.com shortlisted for four awards

cmogroup.com has been recognised by the judges in four categories of the Plymouth Business Awards.

The flagship awards event for the South West is judged by a panel of experts from across the business community.

cmogroup.com is a finalist for the following categories: Medium Business of the Year, Best Tech Business, Employer of the Year, and Excellence in Customer Service.

The business model combines structurally lower costs to allow lower pricing and a stocking strategy not limited by infrastructure.

It has the widest manufacturer ranges on the web and a scalable, bespoke, modular platform.

By shipping directly from manufacturer to customer, creating considerable cost savings with low overheads (no network of expensive distribution centres and trade counters), it has a lower environmental impact too, cutting out unnecessary costs.

cmogroup.com has successfully navigated the challenge of giving outstanding customer service online in a traditionally face-to-face industry.

With a commitment to the best technology, recruitment and customer experience, cmogroup.com exists to help trade customers. Staff call back when they say they will and go the extra mile to make sure customers are happy.

Because of this, in 10 years the business has grown to 100 staff and turnover grew 46% to £38million in 2018.

The customer service policy is to put customers at the center and deliver on promises. It uses Trustpilot, the world’s most powerful reviews platform and Roofing Superstore has recently exceeded 10,000 customer reviews. The business is committed to listening to customers’ feedback and solving issues as they arise.

Across four specialist websites; Door Superstore, Drainage Superstore, Insulation Superstore and Roofing Superstore, cmogroup.com sells over 75,000 products to professional builders across the UK.

Plans for 2019 include two new stores and more tools to make life easier and more efficient for trade customers.

The business is a Plymouth success story and part of the local community. It positively impacts on neighbouring cafes, local taxi companies, and cleaning and maintenance services.

It also has a Community Fund which supports charitable projects. These include the Men’s Shed Charity, Mates in Mind, Building Plymouth, a garden for Honicknowle YMCA, and a new ‘Story Garden’ for Devonport Park.

The awards will be decided at the ceremony on Friday 17 May 2019.
